Effective 7 September 2026. These terms cover Vera for iPhone and iPad, bundle identifier com.d73.vera, and explain its service, limits, and your choices.
Vera does not replace a cane, a guide dog, an orientation and mobility specialist, or a person. It is not designed to decide whether a path, road, crossing or stairway is clear or safe. Do not rely on it to detect traffic, steps, drop-offs or obstacles. Vera gives information; independent judgement and your usual mobility aids remain essential.
It describes what a camera saw, and cameras and models both make mistakes. It may express uncertainty, but even a confident answer can be wrong. Do not rely on it for anything where being wrong would hurt.
The app gives no medical, diagnostic or emergency advice, and is not a substitute for professional help of any kind.
Vera has no sign-in account. Its assistance features require one auto-renewable annual Vera Plus subscription because they use an ongoing online service and receive continuing app updates. Settings, legal information, purchase restoration, subscription management, and data deletion remain available without an active subscription. Use the app only lawfully. Do not use it to identify people who have not agreed, to invade privacy, to record people unlawfully, to harm anyone, or to interfere with the service. You are responsible for how you point the camera and use results.
You receive a personal, limited, non-transferable licence to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, subject to these terms, Apple's Standard EULA, and Apple's applicable usage rules. Vera's software, design and branding remain the developer's property. You may not copy, sell, reverse engineer, bypass purchase or safety controls, probe provider keys, or use the service to build a competing dataset except where applicable law gives you a right that cannot be limited.
The exact price and any introductory trial for which you are eligible are shown in the app and on Apple's confirmation sheet before you buy. If Apple shows a free trial and you confirm, payment begins when that trial ends unless you cancel first. Payment is charged to your Apple Account. Vera Plus renews automatically for another year unless you cancel renewal in your Apple subscription settings. Cancel at least 24 hours before the trial or current period ends to avoid renewal. Apple controls billing, trial eligibility, cancellation, taxes, currency conversion, and refunds; RevenueCat administers Vera's entitlement status. The app provides Restore purchases and Manage subscription in Settings. Billing or refund requests for an Apple purchase must be made through Apple.
Deleting Vera data does not cancel an Apple subscription and cannot erase Apple's transaction record. If you want to end renewal, cancel through Manage subscription. If an active purchase remains on your Apple Account after deletion or reinstallation, you can choose Restore purchases.
The app uses Google Gemini and OpenAI to provide requested visual, conversational, and voice features. Before that processing begins, the app discloses what each provider receives and asks for your agreement. Their services and terms also apply to their processing. You keep ownership of your content. You give the app permission to process it only as needed to answer your request and protect the service from abuse. The app does not sell it, use it for advertising, or retain that content on its server.
System permissions are requested when a feature needs them, not during onboarding. You can deny them, change them later, end live sessions, mute microphone transmission, turn off online processing under Settings → About → Privacy & processing, or choose Delete my account. Deletion removes saved app data and preferences from this device, stops processing, retires the random installation identifier, erases its Vera database records, and asks RevenueCat to delete its customer record. RevenueCat may queue that request. A temporary, content-free deletion-protection marker is retained as described in the Privacy Policy. If a deletion request remains pending, reopen Vera online to retry it.
Vera Plus depends on internet access, Apple purchase services, RevenueCat, and online providers Vera does not own. Those services can be slow or unavailable, and the app will say when the annual offer or an online feature is unavailable rather than showing made-up terms or silently granting access.
Vera includes RevenueCat Purchases under the MIT License, Google WebRTC under the BSD 3-Clause License, and the DINOv2 and SFace on-device models under the Apache License 2.0. Their copyright notices and complete licence terms are also bundled with the app. Bundled software does not receive user content merely by being included; the separate Privacy Policy names every online service that receives information and why.
We may update the app and these terms to improve functionality, safety, privacy, or legal compliance. Material changes to AI providers or purposes require a new in-app disclosure before further processing. We may restrict abusive, unlawful, fraudulent, security-threatening or purchase-bypassing use. You can stop using the app and delete Vera data at any time; Apple subscription cancellation remains a separate action.
To the extent permitted by law, the app is provided as available without a promise that every answer will be correct or every service will always be available. Nothing here removes rights that cannot legally be waived. The app's creators are not liable for indirect or consequential loss caused by relying on an AI answer where the app says independent judgement is required.
